The Good Vibes Festival, scheduled to take place on July 20, 2024, at Genting Highlands, has been cancelled. In an official statement, the festival organizers announced they were informed by authorities that large-scale performances involving international artists set for July 20, 2024, must be rescheduled out of respect for the Coronation Ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

This directive was communicated through a letter dated June 27, 2024. Due to the nature of the Good Vibes Festival, which features multiple touring acts over several days, rescheduling the event is not feasible.

Consequently, Future Sound Asia has decided to cancel the festival, originally slated for July 20 and 21, 2024. All ticket purchasers will automatically receive full refunds to the payment method used for their purchase.

The festival lineup included international artists like Joji, Peggy Gou, and Alec Benjamin, as well as local acts such as The Filters, Spooky Wet Dreams, FUAD, and ForceParkBois.

This marks the second consecutive year that the Good Vibes Festival has been cancelled. In 2023, the remaining two days of the festival were called off after Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, kissed his bandmate Ross McDonald in protest against Malaysia’s anti-LGBT laws during their performance on the first day, prompting the government to cancel the rest of the event.
