Kuala Lumpur screamo band Nonpareil has announced they are breaking up. Their final show will take place on June 20, 2025, at Friday Night Skramz.

The band shared the news on social media, thanking fans for their support. “We started this band through friendship, a bond that became sound,” they wrote. 

“Life pulls us in different directions, but the music we made together will always echo.”

Nonpareil was formed in 2022 and quickly gained attention in the local scene. They released a three-track demo in 2022, followed by their debut EP Seakan Laut Tenggelam in December 2024. It will be their final release.

The band also announced that their songs will soon be available for free on Bandcamp. “Download them. Keep them. Share them loud,” they said.

In their statement, they thanked everyone who had supported them, writing: “To everyone who’s ever screamed with us, cried with us, bled for the front row, whispered our lyrics under your breath.”

“You were part of this.”
