Halloween is near so it means the scary inevitabilities in your life can be masked with pop culture costumes and one night out at great gigs.
Here are five Halloween gigs you can go to, all made better if you had costumes on.
1. GrimRoom
Following the success of Green Room in June, the event returns for a one-night-only ghostly sequel — GrimRoom. This time, the lineup features Margasatwa, Golden Mammoth, FUAD and Spooky Wet Dreams. The night kicks off with Spooky Market (free entry!) and a mysterious Haunted Tunnel you’ll need to survive before reaching the main stage.

2. Full.Stop
Free gig alert! Catch Makhluk Ahseng, Fictions, Wail, Ingkar. and Solaris live at Gerobok Layar, Nilai. The show runs from 5PM till midnight. No tickets, just (spooky) vibes.

3. Spukiday
A cult favourite among indie fans, Spukiday returns for its fourth edition. Come in your best spooky fit for an art market and live sets by Daman Aras, Terderitha, Brank, and Flowerlab, with a closing DJ set from Domestikal Audiovaskular.

4. GIG SUKA HATI: Hallowin-win Liao!
True to its name, GIG SUKA HATI: Hallowin-win Liao! promises chaos and charm in equal measure. Expect performances from Ben’s Bitches, Ilmunanti, Roncas, Hot for Preacher and Lot 19. Plus, enjoy DJ sets, art booths, free makang makang and a best-dressed showdown.

5. Behave Beyond The Grave
Keep Halloween alive a little longer at Behave Beyond The Grave, also at BEHAVE Ampang. The lineup includes Milo Christ (in their comeback show), Fictions, Sunny Club and Azim Zain & His Lovely Bones. Tickets start at RM30, but the gig also practices NOTAFLOF (“No One Turned Away For Lack Of Funds”) — meaning walk-ins can pay what they can. Extra points if your costume screams 80s horror.
