Bandcamp, the online music distribution platform, has officially announced the dates for Bandcamp Friday in 2026. The first instalment of the year will take place on 6 February.
Bandcamp Friday is a recurring initiative where the platform waives its revenue share on all music and merchandise sales, allowing artists and labels to receive 100% of the proceeds earned during the 24-hour period.
In addition to 6 February, the remaining Bandcamp Friday dates for 2026 are as follows:
- 6 March
- 1 May
- 7 August
- 4 September
- 2 October
- 6 November
- 4 December
Announcing the dates, Bandcamp highlighted how the initiative has helped artists cover essential expenses such as rent, as well as fund album recordings and tours.
“Bandcamp Fridays have also become a beacon for artists and record labels looking to raise awareness for causes or raise money for charities,” the platform said.
Earlier this year, Bandcamp also announced a ban on AI-generated music on the platform, a move that was widely welcomed by the global music industry.
“We are fortifying our mission by articulating our policy on generative AI, so that musicians can keep making music, and so that fans have confidence that the music they find on Bandcamp was created by humans,” Bandcamp stated.
