Post-punk band fictions, under its gig collective CIRCLES; will be hosting a fundraiser show on Friday, February 13, at Drum Asia, Hartamas.

The gig aims to raise funds for Megat Ummar, guitarist of shoegaze outfit WAÎL, who is currently supporting his family financially due to his father’s health situation.

“With Megat now having to work extra hard to support his family financially, our goal is to provide them with a more secure financial foundation during this recovery period,” the band shared in a statement.

Tickets are priced at RM30 for pre-sale and RM40 at the door, with 100% of ticket sales going directly to Megat and his family.

The lineup brings together bands across genres, including fictions, cnotsp, Solaris, Makhluk Ahseng, the world ends with you., as well as an indie pop veteran Couple. In the spirit of collaboration, several acts are expected to perform each other’s songs, with some bands even sharing sets and taking turns on stage.

The event will also feature a selection of independent vendors selling jewellery, paintings, clay art, photobooth services and more. A portion of vendor sales will also be contributed to the fundraiser.

“All in all, the whole event aligns with our goals: helping people in need, making events more accessible to everyone and supporting local brands and independent culture,” the organisers added.
