The Filters Release New Song “krash” Ahead of Second Album

It’s their first single since 2022.

The Filters are so back and they’ve dropped a new single to prove it.

The math rock outfit has released “krash” their first single since 2022.

The band took a short hiatus after bassist Reuben was involved in a critical accident in November 2025, sustaining severe abdominal injuries that kept him off his instrument during recovery.

While he healed, the remaining members organised a fundraising show and wrote “krash”, a track they described as “a jazz-inflected math rock piece born out of the experience.”

“Originally written as a trio composition, it was completed after Reuben’s return,” the band said.

“Each section reflects a different member’s perspective during that time, making it both personal and a testament to the band’s resilience.”

The band also announced their second full-length album, due out by the end of the year.
