KL-based collective Astral Angels has announced their new album, PEKAAK, set for release on July 31.
Spanning 14 tracks and running 45 minutes, it’s described as the collective’s biggest and most ambitious project yet.
The album celebrates five years since the group’s formation and features frequent collaborators including Ichu, NIELNOI and more.
“PEKAAK is about being present and letting go of the weight of reality,” the collective shared in a statement.
“The sound is loud and electronic, drawing from sextrance, club music, and nostalgic 2000s trance, while bringing back elements of our early sound.”
Alongside the announcement, Astral Angels shared “AAITE” the first single and teaser off the upcoming album.
The track features NONSENSELAAA and Manska, with additional appearances from Ichu and NIELNOI. “AAITE” is now available on streaming platforms everywhere.
Astral Angels is led by core members August Fear, irystheworld, ceeq, 5haf and Nuzzi, and supported by an extended roster including MANSKA, lurkboy, NONSENSELAAA, hellb3nt, and visual artist AFXTIK.
Together, they formed a fully in-house ecosystem spanning production, songwriting and visual identity.
Formed in 2020 during the lockdown era, the collective emerged as part of a new wave of internet-native artists.
