Joni Mustaf To Mark langlang Vinyl Release With Live Fact Showcase

Tickets are priced at RM25 for presale and RM35 at the door.

Joni Mustaf, the alter ego of Ipoh multidisciplinary artist Mohd Jayzuan, will mark the vinyl release of his second EP langlang with a showcase at Live Fact on 21 August.

The langlang Vinyl Release Showcase will begin at 8pm, with Fictions joining Joni Mustaf as the supporting act. Tickets are priced at RM25 for presale and RM35 at the door.

Originally released on 17 April 2025, langlang will now receive a limited-edition physical release on 10-inch black vinyl. The edition comes with a jacket cover and lyric sheet and is priced at RM170.

The five-track EP features “sondak”, “nyelap sador” and “pukah” on its first side, while the second side contains “ilam-ilam” and “lingsir”.

The release was created over a relatively short period, with the first draft of a song written by Jayzuan on 1 October 2024. The first studio rehearsal followed on 31 October, with rehearsals continuing until 15 January 2025.

Jayzuan handled the bulk of the recording himself, performing vocals and guitar while experimenting with lo-fi synthesizers, bells, metal and other found objects to create sounds for the record. He was joined by Mohd Hazriq of Harmacy and Haziq Hamsa of Oddweek while Man Chello, Sang Nabil Utama and Piko of Marionexxes contributed backing vocals and sing-alongs.

Mohd Najmi Jamaluddin recorded, mixed and mastered the EP, completing the work on 13 April 2025.

langlang was subsequently named Noisy Headspace’s Best Album/EP of 2025.

Tickets are available through the event’s registration form, while the limited-edition vinyl will be sold for RM170.
