Indie rock band Jaggfuzzbeats is back to delight longtime and new fans with their first single in five years, “Glimmer Garden.” 

Known for their jangly guitar riffs and their vocalist Azrul’s distinctive, folksy vocal performance, the new single marks their first offering since 2021.

The duo is made up of songwriter and guitarist Azrul and drummer Omar, who formed the band in 2014. They have made their mark in the Malaysian independent music scene, performing at festivals such as Good Vibes Festival and Urbanscapes. 

Their debut album, Rest Now, was released in 2017. Later, in 2021, they released a seven-track EP titled Subtle Shift.

Describing “Glimmer Garden,” the duo said the single is about accepting that sometimes you have to put your ambitions on hold before it’s due to start again. It’s also the first time piano has made its way into their discography.

“It wasn’t planned as a grand artistic statement. It simply felt like the right sound to carry the story and emotion of the song,” the band said in a statement.

Staying true to the band’s DIY roots, Jaggfuzzbeats is even more hands-on with the process for “Glimmer Garden.” While the guitars and vocals were tracked at Azrul’s little studio/storage room, the drums were recorded at CERO in Petaling Jaya, with Golden Mammoth’s member Hadeef Azlan engineering the session.

The official music video is set to premiere on 28 August 2026, directed by Arman Shahmiey, whose works include music videos for bands such as No Good, Sweetass and LUST. The music video is Arman’s first release under his newly launched creative moniker, Sistem Absura.
